Get moving!

Once you are finished with treatment, no matter how depleted you may feel, know that you will regain your strength. Today is just the starting point.

 

Regaining your strength is a long process; you won’t regain it right away. The key is to start. Begin slowly and increase the intensity and duration of your workout gradually. You might find it useful to keep an exercise log. Improvement is gradual and sometimes it’s hard to tell if you’re really progressing.  With a log you can look back and see just how far you’ve come.

 

Whatever activities you want to return to, you will get there - it just takes time. Gardening, cooking, running a marathon, playing with your children or grandchildren, playing tennis or skiing – you can regain the strength to continue all the things that make your life worth living.

 

The key is to start!
