I first met Julie when I attended a workshop she offered at my local American Cancer Society's support group for breast cancer survivors. It was a very fun evening! Julie has a warm and engaging style that makes exercise accessible to everyone no matter what her fitness level or stage of recovery. That, coupled with Julie's extensive knowledge of exercise physiology, and her sheer enthusiasm for what she does, assures her clients are in excellent hands. I've since had several private training sessions with Julie, one which included a wonderful hike on the mountain near her home (when Julie says she will tailor a workout to your preferences she means it!). I highly recommend attending one of Julie's workshops or contacting her to arrange a private session. Whatever your fitness needs, Julie has the expertise to work with you and help you achieve your goals.
Julie has been a wonderful resource for the young breast cancer survivors at Young Survival Coalition. Last year, she hosted a workshop on the benefits of incorporating exercise into your daily routine, after a breast cancer diagnosis for the young women in our New York City affiliate. Julie showed them the best exercises to do during and after treatment and demonstrated practical ways to gradually work up to the exercises they never thought they could do – even pushups! I would highly recommend that anyone, especially a cancer survivor, interested in developing a fitness routine talk to Julie or visit her website!

I am Julie's Mother—that being said, I must say she is a great coach and trainer!
I was never able to do pushups even at a young age. When I was about 68, Julie suggested I begin with pushing against the wall and progressing. Her encouragement and guidance assisted me to succeed. So, at almost 74, I am now a "tough old bird" that exercises 1-1/2 hours, 5 days per week, and am able to do 10 pushups daily!!! On a recent trip to Jordon, I walked 972 stone steps up & down in Petra, then walked 1 ½ mile out!! I truly believe that STRONG women do live longer!!! Thanks so very much, Julie, you are my inspiration!!!
The overall fitness guidance and the shoulder and core strength exercises I received from Julie Goodale have helped support many hours of violin playing, as well as day-to-day activities. Julie has a thorough understanding of balancing and strengthening the body. She also has the rare ability to know when to push and when caution, or rest, is needed. And working with Julie is just a lot of fun!

I would like to thank you for the moving and passionate talk you gave as part of a panel discussion about music and health during "Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival" in April 2010. You connected directly with the audience and were an inspiration to all who heard you.

I interviewed Julie for my "Professional of the Month" series at MEG-Enterprises. Julie was easy to work with, had practical advice for people starting their own business, and was truly inspirational.

I monitor three e-mail addresses as part of my job, plus receive updates from my private e-mail on my phone, so was pretty hesitant to sign up for the daily tips from this website. But I am enriched by reading Julie Goodale's blog, Fitness for Survivors,so thought I would give it a try. I never thought I would last even a week, before unsubscribing, because the thought of daily e-mailed messages seemed like a nagging disturbance.
Surprisingly, they have been anything but a nuisance. Short - seldom more than a sentence - they serve to enlighten my day. No matter how busy I am, opening an e-mail which says something such as "Get out of your comfort zone today" provides a momentary refreshing thought. Subscribe to Julie's Daily Tips; they might just inspire you too.
